So the 30 hour famine is over...and it was an interesting experience to say the least. I discovered a few things about myself on the way, some good and some not so good. But I think that overall, I learned that I have a lot more willpower than I originally thought! But enough about that, let me tell you a little bit about the famine...and the 30 hours of not eating, not sleeping, and having amazing times of awesomeness. So the famine started at 8am on Friday morning, and I had to go all day without food, and when you are ridiculously bored in class, food can sound really good, and smell really good, and look really good. But I made it to 6pm where we all met up in CJ's. We played some pretty awesome games (Knights, Horses, Cavaliers for the win!) and got to make posters for the Basketball game! There were 50 tickets donated to the famine, and so we got to all troop over to Bob Davis to see the basketball game, and it was super intense! I think I almost lost my voice from yelling like a crazy person, but it worked because Brock Badgers won! WOOT! There was also a campfire, movies, and lots of hangout time. I didn't sleep (well, maybe a 45 min nap at 6 am) and made it through the first two Lord of the Rings movies. Saturday morning was brutal! I was so hungry, but I knew that it was only a few hours until I would be able to eat awesome pancakes. And so, while watching saturday morning cartoons and crocheting milk bags, I made it through and completed the 30 hours! And even though I was tired, hungry and pretty cranky, it was definitely worth it! 30 hours to help change the world. Would you do it?
